January. I don’t know why January seems to always storm in, rattle your confidence in any hopes, plans or goals you’ve set for yourself and the new year and then, just hang around relentlessly to really test your tenacity. I figure if you’ve set any long term goals and you make it thru January without throwing in the towel, you’re off to a solid start.

While January did feel every bit of it’s 31 days long, I was happy for the time to get the big items crossed off my January goals list. I just wrote a letter to a friend the other day and started it by saying I felt really accomplished because I was able to “achieve” the majority of the goals I set for myself and then I started noting the ones I didn’t quite cross off and realized okay…so I fell a bit shorter than I had thought hah but…I got the big items crossed off and the amount of satisfaction I got out of those items was good enough for me for the month.

^Getting rid of the storage unit, setting up the student loan repayment thru work, completing 2 additional steps towards a new opportunity and spending some time crafting/creating several times a week were big wins for the month. After months of collecting projects and never making time to complete things because they were not pressing needs on the to do list, taking the time to flex the creative muscles such as in order to complete the knot blanket, a photo book (only finished 1 out of the 2 I had intended) and the puzzle (as well as working on a diamond painting) was a nice change. I didn’t recall that I had planned to keep to the 5-minute writing prompt daily for the month and fell off that wagon a little when I came to a prompt I didn’t like hah. However, I truly LOVED the 7 or so days I did stick to it so I hope to be even more consistent on that in February.

The items I couldn’t check off: the wooble kit, finalizing a budget and the swim and bike consistency well…there’s only so much time in the day/week/month, even during the month that feels like it’ll never end.

So then onto a new month…with as big of a task as getting out of the 2nd storage unit behind me, I am hoping that February will be easier to focus on the smaller little things so putting out my goals for the month to keep me honest:

Whereas January is every bit of it’s 31 days, February, simply by virtue of it’s 3 less days, feels rushed and like at the end of Day 1 it is already slipping away from me so guess it’s time to get to it!
